Paws for Chili is Back!

Written by Michelle Odean

Rochester, Minn – Mark your calendars and bring your appetites! The second annual Paws for Chili is headed your way on Saturday, October 19. Head over to the Olmsted County Fairgrounds for an afternoon of fun and philanthropy! For the small price of $6 a bowl or $4 a cup, you can satisfy your appetite with three wonderful varieties of chili.

It’s a Chili Time of Year

For the traditionalists, a classic meat and bean chili will be available. The modernist will enjoy partaking in a white chicken chili while vegetarians and vegans can rejoice knowing there will be an option for them as well. Rhonda Brincks, a Camp Companion Event Coordinator, says that none of the chilis will be overly spicy, but they will be flavorful! The event will also have rolls/cornbread, water and coffee, and bars/cookies for dessert.

Kid Friendly

Make sure to bring your kiddos, because Paws for Chili will be a childhood dream! The event is sure to captivate all ages with the presence of llamas, a bake sale, cookie decorating, face painting, a cake walk, and a free gift bag for kids in costumes!

Eat Chili and Save Animals

The event will be held from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. and is free for admission. Last year, this event was able to raise a little over $5,000 to help animals in need. This year, our goal is to double that number. Twice the money means twice the number of animals we can help save! All proceeds from this event will go to Camp Companion and Evergreen Cat Sanctuary. We hope to see you there!
